Pontus Jansson’s comeback for Leeds United ended in disappointment last night with the club well beaten by Brentford.
The Bees won 2-0 and only heroics from Rob Green prevented the scoreline becoming more one sided.
Jansson had missed the two previous games against Brighton and Reading, with Garry Monk’s selection decision last night influenced by Liam Cooper’s suspension.
The defender took to Twitter this morning to apologise to supporters for the team’s performance.
The Swedish international has been a key player for Leeds this season, and is set for an extended run in the team with Cooper serving a six game ban.
The circumstances behind his previous omissions were unclear, but Leeds fans will feel better having him in the team, even if there was little positive effect last night.
