Leeds United have suffered two defeats in their last three Championship outings.
Pontus Jansson admits Leeds United are not as effective they were last season in one key area.
Leeds have enjoyed a bright start to life under Thomas Christiansen and topped the Championship before Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat at Cardiff City.
With 18 goals scored in 10 league games so far, the Whites are well on course to exceed last season’s overall tally of 61.
But while the football is certainly more exciting than it was under Garry Monk – Leeds are also conceding fewer goals – there is one thing the side managed by Christansen’s predecessor was better at, according to Jansson.
“(Losing against physical teams) is something we have to work on,” he told the club’s Facebook page on Friday. “Last season we were good against those physical teams and maybe had problems with teams who played football.
“This year has been the opposite, teams that play football against us we have killed them from the first minute. Millwall and Cardiff are two physical teams who play another type of football and that’s something we have to work on.”
Jansson went on to suggest the problem could be down to the sheer quantity of new signings (13) made during the summer transfer window, and revealed it has been discussed behind closed doors.
He added: “Some of the players have to take bigger responsibilities, I’m one of them.”
Leeds travel to a Sheffield Wednesday side who have lost their last two league matches, increasing the pressure on head coach Carlos Carvalhal.
The Whites won both games against the Owls last season, without conceding a goal.
