Leeds are yet to make a signing during this window, so who do the fans want to come in?

With the January transfer window entering its final stages, HITC Sport has taken a look at the players that Leeds supporters may be hoping the Black Cats hierarchy are able to land during the last days of the month. But before you get the chance to vote, here is a look at the contenders…

Pontus Jansson

The on-loan defender is already a hero at Elland Road, and having made 22 appearances, he is available to join Leeds for a fee of £3.5 million (via Yorkshire Evening Post). Based on his performances so far, that fee would be a complete bargain for Pontus Jansson.

Fabian Delph

According to a report from TeamTalk, Fabian Delph is open to the idea of making a surprise return to Leeds and the Whites have made initial enquiries about the idea of bringing him back to Elland Road for the third time, on loan. Though Leeds’ midfield is arguably as strong as it ever has been since their relegation from the Premier League, Delph’s arrival – regardless of how unlikely it is this season – would undoubtedly boost their promotion hopes enormously.

Ashley Fletcher

It would appear that other than bringing Jansson in permanently, some kind of deal for Ashley Fletcher seems the most likely based on how heavily linked they have been with the West Ham forward. The Yorkshire Evening Post suggests that a deal could be difficult if the Hammers are unable to bolster their attacking options.

Jordan Rhodes

It would undoubtedly be an ambitious move for Leeds to land Jordan Rhodes – given that Middlesbrough want £12 million for the striker (via The Sun) – but his record at Championship level will surely leave some supporters urging the club to seek some kind of deal for the former Blackburn man.

Robbie Keane

The romantic option would be for Leeds to re-sign Robbie Keane surely. Keane had a brilliant loan spell at the club, but a less convincing time once he was signed permanently. The free agent is being tracked by Leeds, according to the Express, and the chance to help his old side back to the top flight may appeal to the Republic of Ireland great.
