Who would Liverpool fans not mind seeing leave Anfield this summer?

As the January transfer window passes the halfway mark, HITC Sport has put together a poll looking at the Liverpool players that perhaps some would not mind seeing move on this month. But before we give the fans the chance to vote, here is a look at the five contenders…

Mamadou Sakho

Of the players on this list, none arguably seem as destined for the Anfield exit as Mamadou Sakho. BBC Sport reports that he is attracting plenty of attention, and the Reds have responded by putting a £20 million price tag on the defender, who now trains with the club’s under-23 side and has not played for the first-team this season.

Simon Mignolet

On his day, Simon Mignolet can be one of the Premier League’s best. But unfortunately, he is also capable of glaring mistakes that could prove especially costly during a title race. He played against Manchester United which was arguably a significant show of faith from Jurgen Klopp, but whether he is the long-term number one ahead of Loris Karius remains to be seen.

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge has the potential to be England’s best striker bagging at least 20 goals a season in the Premier League. However, fitness issues have hampered his career, and Klopp’s system does not appear to be designed to bring the best out of him. A January exit perhaps seems unlikely given his quality but trying to work out the Sturridge conundrum could be something Klopp could perhaps do without.

Alberto Moreno

The emergence of James Milner as a solid left-back has seen Alberto Moreno restricted to just a handful of appearances this term. He is another player who is capable of creating excitement, but his reliability is an issue, and there may perhaps not be many tears shed if he does leave soon.

Lucas Leiva

Like Moreno, Lucas Leiva has struggled for chances this season. The Brazilian has already hinted at potentially looking for a way out of Anfield in the near future, so it may not be a surprise if Klopp leaves the path clear for him to move on.
