Which Hull City player would fans not mind seeing leave this month?
As the January transfer window passes the halfway mark, HITC Sport has put together a poll looking at the Hull City players that perhaps some would not mind seeing move on this month. But before we give the fans the chance to vote, here is a look at the five contenders…
Alex Bruce
Alex Bruce
The son of former manager Steve Bruce is still awaiting the chance to make his first appearance of the season due to injury. Given their lack of significant depth in defence – which is, unfortunately, the case in several areas – it may only be after signing a replacement that the Tigers feel willing to let Alex Bruce move on, if that is at all on their radar.
Shaun Maloney
Despite Hull’s struggles for numbers, Shaun Maloney has still only made one league start this term, so it is perhaps fair to assume that he is not that high up the pecking order. Whether Marco Silva will give him a greater chance remains to be seen.
David Marshall
Hull City’s David Marshall
David Marshall has not enjoyed the best time at the KCOM and with Eldin Jakupovic performing so well, he could be set for a significant period of time on the sidelines.
Ryan Mason
If Mike Phelan was still in charge, Hull fans would have probably continued to question why the Tigers broke their club record to sign Ryan Mason (via Guardian) as he struggled to make a major impact under the previous manager. Marco Silva’s arrival has seen Mason improve – having been put into the centre of midfield – but he now needs to step up and prove himself to be worthy of the record signing tag. At the moment, fans may not be too disappointed if another team came in with a bid of the same value to what Hull paid for him in the summer.
Jake Livermore
Hull City’s Jake Livermore
It is certainly a controversial suggestion but Jake Livermore has already attracted a bid of £10 million from West Brom (via BBC Sport). Though he has impressed this season, the club hierarchy would be forgiven for contemplating the possibility of letting him go, especially if they can get a higher price than the one already on the table and plan to use those funds on a couple of targets.
