Which Derby County player would fans be open to departing this month?

As the January transfer window passes the halfway mark, HITC Sport has put together a poll looking at the Derby County players that perhaps some would not mind seeing move on this month. But before we give the fans the chance to vote, here is a look at the five contenders…

Andreas Weimann

After joining in the summer of 2015 for under Paul Clement, Andreas Weimann has really struggled to make his mark at Derby County. The forward, who prefers to play centrally, has been forced to play on either flank, scoring only 4 goals in 41 appearances.

Nick Blackman

After scoring just 1 goal in 21 appearances for Derby County, Nick Blackman has failed to recreate the form that caught so many people’s eyes at Reading. Struggling this season with injuries, Blackman hasn’t yet been given a chance to prove himself under Steve McClaren, and might benefit from the confidence boost the former England manager is so good at giving.

Matej Vydra

After joining Derby County for a club record fee of £8 million (according to reports in the BBC), Matej Vydra has struggled since his move to Pride Park. Signed under Nigel Pearson to play in a 4-4-2, Vydra looked to be slowly getting into gear, but the move back to 4-3-3 under McClaren has severely scuppered the Czech striker’s playing style.

Craig Bryson

The midfielder terrier has been a popular figure at Pride Park over the years, but after struggling for games under Steve McClaren, the Scotsman may well be looking for regular first team football. With a big line of central midfielders ahead of the former Kilmarnock man in the pecking order at Derby, Craig Bryson may well be likely to move on in the near future.

Johnny Russell

After nearly 150 apperances for the Rams, Derby County’s Johnny Russell has recently been linked with a move away from the club. The Derby Telegraph recently reported that Birmingham City have shown an interest in the wide player, and after just under 30 goals for the club, the Rams may well look to move the wide man on if a suitable replacement can be found.
