Which Burnley player would fans be open to departing by the end of the January transfer window?

As the January transfer window passes the halfway mark, HITC Sport has put together a poll looking at the Burnley players that perhaps some would not mind seeing move on this month. But before we give the fans the chance to vote, here is a look at the five contenders…

Scott Arfield

An outstanding servant to Burnley over the last few years, Scott Arfield may well be one of the more likely exits for the Clarets this season after seeing his position threatened this season. With the signing of Icelandic winger Gudmundsson, as well as the fine form from George Boyd, Arfield’s chances for first team football at Burnley have become more limited, and the midfielder may well be looking for more regular football.

Tendayi Darikwa

After joining Burnley from Chesterfield in 2015, Darikwa has found first team football hard to come by at Turf Moor thanks to the excellent form of right-back, Matt Lowton. The former Aston Villa man, Lowton, has been virtually unmovable for Burnley, and this may force Darikwa to look for more regular football.

James Tarkowski

The former Brentford defender has also found first team football hard to come by at Turf Moor, thanks to the incredible rise of Micheal Keane and the ever-present performer Ben Mee. Though Tarkowski clearly has a future under Sean Dyche, might the Burnley defender also be seeking more regular first-team football?

Michael Kightly

Formerly one of the star men in Burnley’s midfield, Michael Kightly has lost his way somewhat from the first team picture at Turf Moor. A talented and tricky winger, Kightly still has a lot to offer and may well seek a move if his chances for first team football continue to be limited.

Ashley Barnes

Burnley’s Ashley Barnes celebrates

The 27-year-old striker has been at Turf Moor since 2014, and has become somewhat of a fan favourite during his time there. Being used mostly as a “super-sub”, Barnes has contributed some spectacular goals for Burnley over the last few years. However, still finding himself stuck behind Sam Vokes and Andre Gray, might Barnes seek out more regular football?
