Fans have been voting for the best English goalkeeper in the Premier League, including players from Stoke City, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion.

Over the course of the week, fans have been taking part in a HITC Sport poll, voting for the English goalkeeper they believe is the best in the Premier League. Top shot-stoppers from clubs such as Stoke City, Southampton, Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland were all selected.
But which keeper took the top spot? Here’s a rundown of how the votes panned out, and who came away as the fan-voted best English goalkeeper in the Premier League…
3. Jack Butland (Stoke City) – 17%

The Stoke City keeper was exceptional before an injury put him out of action for a lengthy spell at the start of the season. Former Derby County keeper Lee Grant has stood in for the young England star, but after he showed so much promise, Jack Butland is still highly thought of amongst supporters. Stoke City fans will likely be excited for Jack Butland return to action, which they may have to wait until next season for.
2. Tom Heaton (Burnley) – 23%

The Burnley goalkeeper has taken the Premier League by storm this season, and has played a major part in Burnley’s bid for survival this season. After a number of outstanding displays between the sticks, the former Manchester United man has now earned himself a call-up to the England squad. But with just 23% of the vote, he’s not quite yet taken the top spot for the best English goalkeeper in the Premier League.
1. Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion) – 41%

More experienced than any of the other keepers on this list, Ben Foster has been a top performer at the highest level for a number of years now, and has arguably been West Bromwich Albion’s best player this season. An important part of Tony Pulis’ highly defensive side, Foster provides the steady and consistent base in which West Bromwich Albion’s play begins, and after picking up 41% of the vote, fans feel he is the best English goalkeeper in the Premier League. Is it now a battle between Foster and Joe Hart for the England number one spot?
