In a poll on our website in midweek Liverpool striker Luis Suarez won a fans vote for goal of the season, but how does Papiss Cisse’s stunning hit for Newcastle United in midweek compare?
HITC Sport readers have been having their say on the goal of the season this week.
We put together our top five, and then what happened, Papiss Cisse scored a scorcher two days later. So this Saturday we have one option > run a new poll pitching Luis Suarez’ strike up against Cisse’s.

Luis Suarez v Norwich: 25 per cent
Peter Crouch v Man City: Three per cent
Hatem Ben Arfa v Blackburn: 24 per cent
Hatem Ben Arfa v Bolton: 23 per cent
Robin van Persie v Everton: 23 per cent
Other: Three per cent
So as you can see it was an incredibly close run thing, with Suarez just about edging it. Now we want to know if Papiss Cisse’s screamer against Chelsea in midweek was better than the Liverpool man’s effort from near the halfway line.
