Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been backed to progress further in the Champions League than Premier League champions Manchester City.

The 2014-15 Champions League campaign will have four Premier League representatives: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.

While Arsenal and Chelsea are regulars in the Champions League, English champions City have been playing in Europe’s premier club competition (regularly) for the past three years.

As for Liverpool, they will return to the elite competition after a five-year absence, but the Reds have been backed by Sky Sports followers to progress further than City this campaign.

In a poll conducted by Sky Sports on which English club will progress furthest in the competition, Chelsea came out on top with Arsenal second, Liverpool third and Manuel Pellegrini’s Citizens fourth.

It will not come as a surprise to see Chelsea being backed by football fans to achieve more success in the Champions League this season than any of their Premier League rivals.

After all, the Blues have one of the strongest and most talented teams in Europe, and a certain Jose Mourinho as their manager.
