Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down for his post-match interview following his side’s superb 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League last night, and responded to a question asking him if beating the European champions was special for him, as quoted by Football.London.

Tottenham were sensational from the first to the last minute against Los Blancos, with every single one of Pochettino’s players demonstrating high levels of skill, commitment and will to win.

The Lilywhites went into the game at Wembley last night on the back of two consecutive defeats, so a win against Zinedine Zidane’s men was absolutely vital, as far as morale within the camp is concerned.

Pochettino must have been thrilled with the levels that his side reached for the entirety of the 90 minutes yesterday.

And the Argentine addressed the media during his post-match press conference, and responded to a question asking him if it felt special to beat a team of Madrid’s magnitude, as quoted by Football.London:

“No, not especially.”

“What is important for me is that we’re in the next round. After last year when we were in the Champions League and we were out of the running in the Group Stage after two games, this year we are in a very difficult group of Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL – who have shown that in their performances against Borussia that they are no pushovers.”
