The Tottenham Hotspur boss is experiencing arguably his first real difficult spell since being appointed manager in 2014.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down for his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s clash with APOEL in the Champions League tonight, and responded to a question asking him if he is happy with his current squad of players, as quoted by Football.London.
Tottenham are currently going through a real rough spell in the Premier League, having taken just two points from their last four games – a run that has seen them fall 18 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City side.
Pochettino sufficiently strengthened his squad during the summer window, bringing the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Fernando Llorente and Serge Aurier to the club, but serious questions have been asked as to whether the summer arrivals are actually good enough to help Spurs move to the next level.

The Argentine addressed the media ahead of his side’s Champions League game tonight, and responded when asked if he is happy with his group of players, as quoted by Football.London:

“We have showed we can cope to play at the top level. We have a squad good enough to fight for every competition. For different reasons we can argue about why we are not top of the table in the PL. But I feel the squad is very good. I am very happy with the players we have.”
Following tonight’s Champions League match, Tottenham face back-to-back home games in the Premier League against Stoke City and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively, and six points from those two outings will be of paramount importance to their fading hopes of remaining in the title race.
