It is easy for Spurs fans to get excited nowadays. With a young manager and a squad of top quality players, the sky seems to be the limit for the North London club.
Their recent 2-0 victory over title favourites Manchester City simply reaffirmed the belief that they can make a strong challenge this season. As reported by Tottenham’s official website, manager Pochettino has told his players to be clever following the triumph.
The spotlight is certainly shining on Tottenham after a few weeks of gradually going about their own business. The pressure of expectation can become too much for some teams, and we have seen in the past what it has done to teams at the top.
“For our supporters, it’s exciting and the energy they transfer to us is fantastic. For us, we need to be clever,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s only the beginning of the season. It was a good game but we need to use it to try to improve every day and every game.
“That is the example and we need to push and be clever to use it to try to improve.
“I’m happy but it’s only three points. Tottenham is a big club and we need to be ambitious. We need to fight for titles at the end, that is our aim,” he insisted.

Tottenham have never won the Premier League title and have always been looking up at the likes of Manchester United and rivals Arsenal. Now, however, they appear better prepared than both those sides to make a serious push this season.
Their next task following the international break is a trip to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion.
