English clubs could still lose players to European sides.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told The Telegraph that he thinks Daniel Levy now understands that the early closure of the English transfer window was a mistake.
Spurs finally brought in new signings this summer after 18 months without a new addition, and actually landed five new faces in total.
Striker Kion Etete joined from Notts County after a successful trial, whilst Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso have strengthened Pochettino’s squad and Jack Clarke has been loaned back to Leeds.
Those are strong signings signings for Spurs both for now and for the future, but there are still issues for Pochettino to deal with now.
He doesn’t have a new right back in place despite selling Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid, and there are fears that some players may still go before the European deadline.
The Telegraph claim that Pochettino fears Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld or Jan Vertonghen may be lured away from the club before the end of the month, with other European clubs still able to do business.
Pochettino has now admitted that he thinks Premier League clubs are in a difficult position, as Champions League teams can still swoop in and sign their key players without the ability to replace them, feeling there is a problem for English sides.

Pochettino added that he thinks Daniel Levy knows the early closure of the English window was a ‘massive mistake’, and hopes it can be resolved quickly in the future.
“I wasn’t in agreement [with the early close of the Premier League transfer window] but at that moment they believed that was best for the clubs,” said Pochettino. “But I think he [Levy] and a lot of people now realise it was a massive mistake. I hope that we fix the problem for the next season. I think we need to go back and operate in the same way that they operate in Europe because I think it’s massive when you go to compete in the Europa League or Champions League.”
“Champions League teams can create problems in a team like us and it’s so clear that I cannot be happy as a coach that in the last three or four weeks that certain clubs from Europe can unsettle your team. For me it’s not common sense and we need to go back quick, hope they have a good conversation at the Premier League and go back quickly [to how it was],” he added.
