Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to Football.London that Toby Alderweireld could feature against Swansea City this weekend.

Spurs will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Premier League rivals Swansea away from home at the Liberty Stadium in the sixth round of the FA Cup.

The Belgium international has played only twice for Spurs since November, according to Sky Sports, but the 29-year-old defender is fit.

Tottenham manager Pochettino has suggested that Alderweireld could feature against Swansea this weekend.

Could Toby Alderweireld feature against Swansea City?

Pochettino’s aforementioned comments do suggest that Alderweireld could feature against Swansea.

After all, if the 29-year-old was not in his plan for this weekend, then the Spurs boss could have just said so.

It will be interesting to see if Alderweireld is included in the starting lineup. Perhaps it would be a better idea for the defender to come on as a substitute in the latter part of the game.

Alderweireld joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £11.4 million.
