Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to Football.London that Fernando Llorente could start against Fulham at the weekend.

Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Tottenham, but the England international is on the sidelines at the moment with injury.

Son Heung-min has also played upfront, but the South Korea international is away on international duty at the Asian Cup.

Tottenham manager Pochettino has suggested that 33-year-old Spain international striker Llorente could start in the Premier League game against Fulham away from home at Loftus Road in London on Sunday afternoon.

Pochettino told Football.London regarding Llorente: “I think it’s normal that we are thinking to give him the possibility to start on Sunday.

“Of course it’s in my mind. I’ve still not decided the starting XI, but it’s one of the possibilities that we have in mind.”

Taking his chance

Llorente has struggled to make an impact at Tottenham since his move to the North London club from Swansea City in the summer of 2017.

The Spain international striker has to take his chance against Fulham if he starts, and a goal or two will be great for his confidence.

With Fulham struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment and conceding goals, Tottenham should be confident of picking up all three points from the London derby.
