Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino described how Saturday’s game at Bournemouth represents a fantastic opportunity for his side to move to the top of the Premier League table, and how that in itself should be enough motivation for Tottenham to perform, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The North London outfit have begun their league campaign in impressive fashion, and are the only remaining unbeaten side left in England’s top flight.
They currently sit one point behind league leaders Manchester City and second placed Arsenal heading into this weekend’s fixtures.

Speaking to reporters, the Argentine explained how there is no bigger motivation in the game than the opportunity of reaching the Premier League summit, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“It’s a big motivation for us to finish the game and take the three points to be top of the table. Better motivation is impossible. The motivation has been very good on the training ground. Our players are very focused and it’s a good opportunity to see us at the top of the table.”

If Spurs do win, their stay at the top of the league could be short-lived, however, with Arsenal playing Middlesbrough later in the day at the Emirates, and Man City hosting Southampton at the Etihad on Sunday.
Whatever happens this weekend, Pochettino’s men will be in a strong position, but the real challenge for them will be later on in the season, when tired legs begin to set in, and their ability to handle the highly pressurised title run in will be tested to the limit.
