Tottenham Hotspur had to work hard for the three points against Villa on Saturday.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday, and shared what disappointed him about their performance, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs were far from their best during the first 45 minutes, and went into the half-time break trailing Dean Smith’s side, after John McGinn scored inside the first 10 minutes.
Tottenham came out in the second-half with a renewed impetus, energy and vigour, however, and blew the visitors away, running out as comfortable 3-1 winners.
Pochettino spoke to reporters after the win over Villa, and highlighted how his Spurs side were taking rash decisions during the first 45 minutes, as quoted by Football.London:

“It was a difficult first half, we started well and of course we conceded in the first section that they approached our goal. After that we didn’t find a way to play in the way we wanted to play. We prepare and it is always the fault of the manager, my plan didn’t work and we were taking rash decisions and we were never comfortable on the pitch. The first 45 minutes wasn’t the best.”
Next up for Tottenham’s a really tough-looking trip to Manchester City on Saturday, and Pochettino’s men will have to be at it right from the very first whistle up until the last, if they are to take anything from the match at the Etihad.
