Tottenham Hotspur struggled to a 1-1 draw with Watford yesterday.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down and addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s 1-1 draw with Watford yesterday, and opened up on what he had been telling his players all week leading up to the game – something that they obviously didn’t listen to, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
Tottenham are in the midst of a really challenging period at the moment – arguably the Argentine’s first mini-crisis since taking over at the club in May 2014, having taken just two points from their last four Premier League games, and they now sit 15 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City side.
On the face of it, a 1-1 draw away from home, having played for 40 minutes with 10 men seems like a respectable result, but in the grand scheme of things it did the Lilywhites no favours whatsoever.

Pochettino sat down for his post-match press conference, and shared how his pre-game message to his players fell on deaf ears, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes, very disappointed, after 12 minutes. Because we talked a lot in the last few days about being focused and trying to concentrate in this type of action.”
Spurs now face two huge home games in the Premier League against Stoke City and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively, before they face arguably their most important game of the season – a trip to the Etihad to take on Man City.
And nine points from those games will be a must, if they are to remain in the title race.
