Tottenham Hotspur cannot qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, but a win tomorrow night would see them qualify for the Europa League.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino highlighted how his side’s participation in the Europa League this season represents a fantastic opportunity for them to become more accustomed to playing at Wembley (their temporary European home), as quoted by popular football magazine FourFourTwo.
Tottenham face CSKA Moscow tomorrow in their final Champions League group stage game, knowing that a victory would secure third place in the group, and subsequently, their place in the Europa League.

And despite some fans questioning whether competing in the Europa League would do more harm than good, as far as Spurs’ Premier League title aspirations are concerned, Pochettino told reporters the major positive he believes will come from it, if they manage to secure their qualification into the competition tomorrow night, as quoted by FourFourTwo:
“After being out of the Champions League, the Europa League is important for different reasons. First of all because we have the opportunity to play more games at Wembley, where next season we will play more games. It’s a great opportunity to make Wembley our home.”

Spurs seem to have put their poor run of form behind them, after their 5-0 win over Swansea City at White Hart lane on Saturday, and now their fans will be hoping for a sustained unbeaten run as they look to force themselves back into the Premier League title race.
Following their final Champions League game of the season, Pochettino’s men head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Sunday, in a game that could have huge ramifications to both side’s top-four prospects.
