Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s bitterly disappointing defeat to the Hammers yesterday, and shared how he plans to give his weary troops some time off to help them rest and recover, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Chelsea can now wrap up the Premier League title with two more wins from their final four games, and Tottenham will most likely have to wait another year before attempting to win their first league title since 1961.
The Lilywhites have, on the whole, been incredibly impressive this season, and are arguably the best footballing side in the division, thrilling their fans up and down the country on a consistent basis.
Pochettino deserves great credit for the manner in which he has moulded the Spurs squad during his time in charge at White Hart Lane.
One question mark over his management style, however, is that he overworks his players, both in training and during games, which subsequently leads to a substantial drop in performance levels during the final handful of games in a season.

And the Argentine hinted that his troops could very well have hit a wall, when speaking to reporters, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:
“Now we rest a little and try to prepare for the next game. It will be a very important game, the last at White Hart Lane against Manchester United with the possibility of finishing at White Hart Lane in the best way.”
With Tottenham’s current disappointment, it is easy to forget how much progress they have actually made this season, and if they can continue to improve, there will be plenty of good times ahead for this Spurs squad.
