Spurs beat Watford 2-0 at Wembley Stadium on Monday night.

Mauricio Pochettino has been quoted by Football London as saying that Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier is one of England’s best players, after Spurs beat Watford on Monday night.
Trippier was involved in both goals as he picked up the man of the match trophy for his efforts from the right side of defence, proving to be a constant thorn in the Watford defence as well as remaining solid at the back.
Dele Alli lashed home Spurs’ opener after Trippier’s cross was fumbled by goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, before Trippier picked up on a loose ball to tee up Harry Kane. The England striker finished with aplomb.

After the match, Argentine boss Pochettino heaped praise on the 27-year-old defender, describing him as one of the best English players in the Premier League ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
“I think our full-backs have been fantastic this season. If you see the stats of Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies or when we play with Danny Rose and Serge Aurier, I think we have great quality there,” Pochettino said.
“For me, Kieran is one of the best English players in the Premier League and he deserves a lot of credit. Assists, playing passes, crosses he is one of the best.”

Though the Manchester City trainee may not pick up the assist for Spurs’ first, he certainly will for the second which takes him onto a tally of nine assists from right-back this season – in just 33 appearances.
The form of Trippier has even seen him keep summer signing Serge Aurier out of the side, and Trippier is expected to retain his place against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday at The Hawthorns.
