Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Ipswich Town on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
Carter-Vickers was sent out on loan to Championship club Sheffield United in the summer of 2017.
The 20-year-old defender was recently recalled and has now been sent out on loan to Ipswich Town in the January transfer window for the rest of the season.
The USA international defender has yet to break into the Spurs first team and has not yet made his debut in the Premier League.
Tottenham have a strong and competitive squad, and it is going to be hard for any young player, especially someone who is a defender, to break into the team.
Spurs manager Pochettino, though, has made it clear that Carter-Vickers has a long-term future, words which will sure assure the youngster.
Pochettino told Football.London when asked if Carter-Vickers has a long-term future at Tottenham: “Yes, of course. It’s a great experience for the young players.
“After two years training with us, he deserves to play. He needs to build his career. We’re thinking one day he can come back and have success at Tottenham.”
Carter-Vickers’s loan spell at United was not exactly great, as his performances were mixed, and the American youngster should be looking to step up at Ipswich during the second half of the season.
