A look back at comments Tottenham boss made about former player earlier this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a big money move to buy back Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Daily Mail claims Spurs are considering a move for the Icelandic international, who was sold in 2014 after losing his place to Christian Eriksen.
Sigurdsson has flourished at Swansea since moving back to the Liberty Stadium and the Daily Mail‘s report claims Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino believes it was a mistake to sell the playmaker.

The reports should not come as a surprise considering comments made by the Argentine last December.
He told The Guardian: “I think after he moved to Swansea and we saw his development at Swansea, he was a perfect player for us, but it was a club decision and his decision to move to Swansea and find another way.
“When we arrived at Tottenham we had 34 senior players and it was difficult to assess them all in the first few weeks, because we did not have enough time.
“The decision when we were in Seattle was for him to play the first friendly game. I remember he was in the starting XI to play that match and I had a call to say: ‘OK, the agreement is done with Swansea.’ When the club and player decide to move, there is nothing you can do about that.”

Sigurdsson has shone for Swansea this past season, scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists in the Premier League.
This compares well with Spurs talisman Eriksen who has eight goals and 15 assists.
The Daily Mail‘s report claims Sigurdsson is valued at £25 million and Tottenham are weighing up a summer move.
It makes perfect sense that Pochettino tries to undo the decision the club sanctioned hurriedly in 2014, and bring in a player who they have already seen fit to purchase once before.
