Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Newport County on Saturday, and responded to questions asking him whether any of the club’s youth prospects would be involved in the game, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.

Tottenham have enjoyed a decent first half of their 2017/18 campaign, but inconsistency has undermined their chances of winning the Premier League title, so the FA Cup arguably represents their most realistic chance fo winning silverware this season.

With a hugely important home game against Manchester United coming just four days after their clash with the League Two minnows, however, many expect the Argentine to rest some of his keys players.

One player who is pushing for a place in the squad is 17-year-old Tashan Oakley-Boothe, and Pochettino responded to reporters when asked about the youngster’s chances of featuring on Saturday, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes I think Tashan will be involved in the squad. I was watching the first half of the U23s today and maybe we are going to pick some players from the U23s to travel tomorrow.”

The talented teenager is highly rated in north London, and has really impressed when playing for Spurs’ developmental side, but a jump up to the senior side would be a real test of the player’s mettle.

And an away trip to League Two side Newport County would be quite the introduction to senior football for Oakley-Boothe, if he is given an opportunity to prove his worth.
