Liverpool play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday, and responded to questions asking him whether new signing Lucas Moura will be fit and available for selection against Jürgen Klopp’s side, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The Brazilian completed his move to Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25 million, and he is expected to bring Spurs that little bit of extra quality that could make all the difference for them during the business end of the campaign.
He barely featured for the French giants this season, however, making just six substitutes appearances, and it is highly doubtful whether he will be match fit ahead of the Lilywhites clash with Liverpool.
Pochettino addressed the media during his pre-match press conference today, and responded when asked if the 25-year-old will play against the Reds on Sunday, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“He is still doing things. Yesterday he was doing some tests with our Sports Science (department). Today he is in Paris doing private things. Tomorrow he will start to work with the team. But he may need to work a little bit on his own to reach the level we need. I don’t want to say yes or no (whether he will play Sunday) but I don’t believe.”
Whoever takes to the field of play for Spurs will have to be at their very best, if they have any chance whatsoever of leaving Anfield with anything to show for their efforts.
