Pochettino responds when asked if Daniel Levy has imposed strict rule at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the most well-run clubs in the Premier League.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down for his pre-match press conference yesterday, ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup clash with West Ham, and responded to suggestions that Daniel Levy has imposed age restrictions on future signings at the club, as quoted by ESPN.

The Argentine has become renowned for buying young stars, and moulding them into world-beaters, and has only signed three outfield players over the age of 25 during his time in charge of the club – Federico Fazio, Toby Alderweireld and Moussa Sissoko.

Daniel Levy has always run a tight ship in his role as Chairman of the Lilywhites, and his preference has always been to buy young before selling on for vast profits.

Pochettino, however, refuted claims that the Spurs supremo has enforced a rule whereby he can only purchase players who are 25-years-old or younger, as quoted by ESPN:

“From the beginning here, Daniel Levy has never said to me, ‘We cannot sign players who are over 25.’ Never. I promise you he’s never said that. All we do is try to find a profile that will fit what we need for the club, but he has never said to me, ‘That is the limit of the age — we can or we cannot.”

Tottenham are serious contenders for major honours on all fronts this season, and their strength as a team has to be put down in no small part to the manner in which both Pochettino and Levy have worked together to build such an imposing group of players at the club.

And because of that, the north London outfit have a very bright future ahead of them, that much is certain.
