Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he thinks both Christian Eriksen and Manchester Ciy’s Kevin De Bruyne are ‘fantastic’ – but wouldn’t be drawn on how much he thinks Eriksen is worth.

Spurs host City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening, presenting Pochettino with the chance to continue his unbeaten league record in 2018, and the chance to exert some revenge on City; the last team to beat Spurs in the Premier League, back in December.

City’s last three games have seen them lose twice to Liverpool and once to Manchester United, conceding eight goals in the process as their imminent title win nears something of a dull conclusion.

Spurs will be looking to make it four defeats in a row for City, and having beaten Stoke City 2-1 last weekend, Tottenham enter the game in fine form.

Whilst Harry Kane’s controversial goal handed them the win and grabbed the headlines over the last week, it’s playmaker Christian Eriksen who is also dominating headlines having turned in some stunning performances of late.

The Dane, 25, has hit four goals and three assists in his last eight games for Spurs, confirming his status as not only one of the top playmakers in the Premier League, but also in Europe.

Christian Eriksen of Spurs takes a corner during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on April 1, 2018 in London, England.

Eriksen will go head to head with fellow playmaking star Kevin De Bruyne this weekend, and ahead of the game, Spurs boss Pochettino has told Football.London that he thinks both players are ‘fantastic’, but stopped short of claiming they’re the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Pochettino was also asked just how much the thinks Eriksen is worth in the transfer market right now, but he dodged that question by suggesting he doesn’t understand the market too well right now, and added that chairman Daniel Levy is the man to ask about Eriksen’s value.

“Both are fantastic, I don’t know if they are the best but if you make your top five I am sure all the managers and football people are going to name them both of course,” said Pochettino. “That is about the market and I do not have control of the market, I don’t understand it too much, that is a question for my boss,” he added when asked about how much Eriksen is worth.
