Tottenham Hotspur lost on penalties to Barcelona on Sunday morning.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that a deal for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is ‘not realistic’ – and was guarded on talk of a move for either Andre Gomes or Rafinha of Barcelona.
Spurs took on Barcelona in their second game of the International Champions Cup on Sunday morning, and fell 2-0 down in Pasadena as Munir El Haddadi and Arthur Melo struck for the Catalan giants.
However, Tottenham did hit back with Son Heung-min and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou finding the net, but the game then went to penalties, and Anthony Georgiou’s effort was saved by Jasper Cillessen, leaving Malcom to wrap up the win for Barca.
It was far from Barcelona’s first-choice starting line-up, but Tottenham – missing a host of stars themselves – couldn’t claim the win, and failed to build on their 4-1 win over Roma earlier this week.
The defeat will again bring calls for Tottenham to sign players, given that they have still yet to bring in a single summer signing ahead of the new Premier League season and the transfer deadline.
Fans are desperate for any news about incomings, and Pochettino was unsurprisingly asked about the club’s transfer situation after the final whistle in Pasadena this morning.

Pochettino was asked whether Tottenham could re-sign winger Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, but offered a fairly blunt response to Football.London, stating that a deal is ‘not realistic’.
Pochettino was also asked whether Spurs could move for Barcelona duo Andre Gomes and Rafinha, who both started against Tottenham, but despite recent links, the Argentinian played his cards close to his chest again.
“I think it’s not realistic,” said Pochettino about Bale. “I’m not going to talk about targets or names. We’ll see in the next few weeks,” he added on Gomes and Rafinha.
