Tottenham Hotspur beat Cardiff City on New Year’s Day.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he disagrees with Neil Warnock’s comments about the club’s stadium.
Spurs beat Cardiff City 3-0 on New Year’s Day, as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min handed Tottenham an ideal start to 2019.
After the game though, Bluebirds boss Warnock – as quoted by BBC Sport – suggested that Spurs should now be forced to play all of their home games at Wembley Stadium for the rest of the season.
Spurs spent last season at Wembley as they waited for their new stadium to be built, and were scheduled to move into their new home back in September.
However, delays have pushed the move-in date back and back again, with Tottenham still playing at Wembley as things stand.
A move into their new home next month may be on the cards, but some believe it’s unfair that some teams have played away at Wembley, and others will play at the new stadium; essentially Warnock’s point.
Pochettino has now been asked about those comments, and noted that he feels the opposite way, believing that it will predominantly impact Spurs rather than any other team.

Pochettino added that he has told Levy that, as soon as Spurs can move in, then they must, adding that Spurs can lose anywhere – as seen by the recent defeat at Wembley to Wolves.
“I think Neil is a very nice guy,” said Pochettino. “I have a great affection for him but in that point that is our decision. It’s going to be our decision. I told Daniel in the moment that we can move we must move. It’s going to be an advantage for us rather than a disadvantage for us. I think it’s going to be a massive boost for us to play in our new stadium.”
“ My thought is that it will be the opposite [to what he said]. To play in our new stadium will be a massive boost for our players and the fans. It’s going to be a fantastic thing for us. Look what happened at Wembley, we lost against Wolves. You can win or lose in different stadiums. Sure it’s going to be easier for us to create a better atmosphere in our new stadium because it’s going to be our home,” he added.
