With question marks surrounding the future of Kyle Walker, Tottenham Hotspur may be in the market for a new right back this summer – and they may even move for a former Spurs youngster.
The London Evening Standard reported last week that Tottenham look set to lose Walker this summer, and will be open to offers of around £35million, with Manchester City leading the race for his signature.
Whilst Kieran Trippier has impressed this season, Tottenham may want to bring in another right back to offer competition for places in Walker’s place, with an ex-Spurs defender being linked this evening.
The Mirror report that Tottenham may pursue a move for Bournemouth ace Adam Smith, who came up through the now-lauded Spurs academy.
Smith, 26, has been a regular for Bournemouth since joining the Cherries in January 2014, and he has grabbed five assists from right back in an impressive campaign this season.

Spurs are now believed to be exploring the possibility of bringing Smith back to White Hart Lane, in a move which would give the defender the chance to finally live out his dream of being a Tottenham regular.
After leaving Spurs in 2014, Smith was quoted by the Daily Star as saying that he was frozen out under Andre Villas-Boas, and having been left ‘hugely frustrated’ with his lack of first-team opportunities, he felt he had to leave Spurs.

Smith added that his decision to leave was ‘very difficult’ as his dream was to play for Spurs having been with the club since the age of seven – meaning he could jump at the chance to make a return this summer.
“The manager at the time said nothing to me about playing, despite the fact I was training with the first-team,” said Smith. “Only so many players could take part in the first-team pre-season tour and I was told I was going with the reserves to Portugal. I am not going to lie I was very disappointed. I had just come back from playing in the U-21 European Championship with England, so not being involved in the first-team pre-season tour was hugely frustrating as I was not even given the chance to show what I could do.
“I told my agent there was not much point in me staying. It was very difficult as I had been there since I was seven and my dream was to play for Spurs, but I made a big decision to come here and start my career properly,” he added.
