Tottenham reportedly want Newcastle’s Fabian Schar.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for Newcastle United’s Fabian Schar.
The Mirror report Spurs have been impressed by Schar’s performances this season and are interested in buying him, along with interest from rivals Arsenal.
For Spurs, it would provide the culmination of five years of interest.
The Star reported in June 2014 how Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino considered making Schar his first signing at the club.
Tottenham didn’t move, and signed Federico Fazio instead, who is no longer at the club.
Schar was touted at £9 million then, and moved to Hoffenheim a year later.
A move to Deportivo La Coruna followed before Newcastle bought him for a bargain £3 million fee last summer.

It will cost Tottenham several times that to convince Newcastle to sell the Swiss defender after just a year.
Schar has been impressive in 2019, helping Newcastle to keep a succession of clean sheets.
His eye for goal has helped grab attention too, with Schar scoring a spectacular long range strike against Cardiff last month.
Tottenham’s interest may be reactionary to his performances, but it is rooted in a deeper lying admiration of the player which has existed for years.
