Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is now expected to be frozen out after a late move to Tottenham Hotspur failed to materialise.
Trevoh Chalobah is unlikely to feature much for Chelsea after Tottenham Hotspur missed out on signing him.
That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Chelsea consider Chalobah completely surplus to requirements.
It’s stated that Chalobah could now be frozen out by Chelsea over the course of the season.
Chalobah is currently nursing a hamstring injury but has seemingly been told that he won’t play a big role upon his return.
Chelsea wanted a staggering £50million for Chalobah before the summer deadline, a price tag nobody would pay.
Tottenham Hotspur missed out on signing Trevoh Chalobah
Bayern Munich had been keen on a loan deal with Thomas Tuchel eyeing up a reunion.
Chalobah was viewed as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard but a deal couldn’t be done before the deadline.
Tottenham then joined the race with Fabrizio Romano reporting on deadline day that Spurs had made an approach.
Tottenham also wanted a loan deal and Chelsea decided to keep hold of Chalobah beyond the deadline.
Mauricio Pochettino seems ready to completely axe Chalobah though, making the decision not to loan him out a little strange.
Chelsea certainly won’t get near to £50million if Chalobah is exiled until January, with his transfer value set to decrease in the coming months.
Spurs could return for Chalobah in January
Don’t be surprised to see Tottenham make a new move for Chalobah come January.
Spurs have just allowed Davinson Sanchez to join Galatasaray whilst Eric Dier seems to be out of the plans under Ange Postecoglou.
Another centre back will be wanted and Tottenham appear to be focusing on a homegrown signing.
Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo and Bournemouth ace Lloyd Kelly have been targeted of late with Chalobah fitting a similar profile.

Chelsea don’t love dealing with Tottenham but Spurs may well believe they have a chance to land Chalobah come January.
