The Tottenham Hotspur defender has been in superb form this season.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino raved about Kieran Trippier, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website, highlighting the player’s humbleness as something that has stood him in good stead, as he continues to develop into a top class right-back.
The 27-year-old joined Tottenham form Burnley in 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £3.5 million, and has now established himself as the club’s first choice right-back, after biding his time for two years, playing understudy to Kyle Walker.
The two-capped England international has proven to be a key contributing factor behind the Lilywhites fine start to the season, and his superb displays have been rewarded with another call-up to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for their upcoming friendly internationals with Germany and Brazil.
And Pochettino spoke highly of Trippier, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website, highlighting how the 27-year-old’s drive and commitment since joining the club is now beginning to bear fruit:
“We’re so happy with Kieran. He came from Burnley, he was very humble when he arrived here to fight for his place in the team and after two years, he’s playing against Real Madrid in the Champions League. We’re so proud of him. Kieran is so focused on trying to be better every day. That’s the secret. It’s very good news for us to have players so competitive. You can see now the competition is so tough. We need everyone fit and with the right mentality to compete for a place in the team.”

Next up for Spurs and Trippier is the north London derby against Arsenal on November 18th, and the former Burnley man will have to be at his very best, if his side are to leave the Emirates with all three points.
