The Tottenham Hotspur pair have been out for 15 months combined.
Rose, 27, has been out since January after he sustained a serious knee injury, whereas Lamela’s absence has been as frustrating as it has been protracted, with a precise diagnosis still proving illusive, after the picked up an injury in October 2016.

Tottenham fans are beginning to grow increasingly more frustrated with every week that passes, with no sign of either the Englishman or the Argentine.
“Lamela and Son and Moussa Sissoko are on the training ground, recovering at different levels of training there. Danny Rose was in New York and is going tomorrow to London again to start his recovery on the training ground. All of them are at different levels. Will see in the next few weeks the evolution for every one.”
With just three weeks remaining until the start of the new Premier League campaign, it is still rather unlikely that either Lamela or Rose will be back up to speed in time for the away trip to Tyneside to take on Newcastle United on August 13th.
And if both players do not return sooner rather than later, there has to be some serious questions asked regarding their respective futures with Spurs.
