Tottenham’s 5-0 thrashing of the Swans yesterday could not have come at a better time for Pochettino and his side, who were under intense pressure following their poor run of form since their win over City on October 2nd.

And the Argentine spoke to reporters in the aftermath of the game, highlighting the importance of his side’s bounce-back victory following their defeat to Chelsea last weekend, as quoted by tottenhamhotspur.com:
“It was a very good performance, the complete one. I’m happy and we needed it – a big victory after Chelsea. But I don’t believe it was the best performance of the season. Against Manchester City we were better. It’s important to be close to the top.”

The Lilywhites certainly looked to be back to their best yesterday, and played with far greater intensity than they have been of late along with more conviction in their play.
Next up for Pochettino’s men in the Premier League is a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United next weekend, before they embark on a run of very winnable games, from which they will be targeting maximum points in a bid to force their way inside the Champions League spots.
