Tottenham found it difficult to break down West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has demanded for his team to be more clinical in front of goal following the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
Pochettino’s side had 25 attempts against West Brom at Wembley but didn’t score until the 74th minute, when Harry Kane found the net.
Tottenham are back in action tomorrow night when they face Leicester City away and Pochettino is eager for his side to be more ruthless.
As reported by Football.London, Pochettino said: “It was very competitive and we tried to win and score to the end. The effort was massive, but in the last third we need to do more and be more clinical in front of goal.
“The team creates chances and the ball arrives in a good condition but it’s important to be clinical in the last third.”
Tottenham were vulnerable defensively at times against West Brom, but, as Pochettino acknowledges, the biggest frustration that they will take from proceedings was the fact that they struggled in front of goal.
There is certainly much to improve upon as Pochettino looks to get his side back performing effectively as a unit and the Argentine will undoubtedly be disappointed with how difficult Tottenham found it difficult to break down a well-organised West Brom defence.
Kane is clearly Tottenham’s main source of goals, with the striker having found the net on nine occasions in the Premier League this season, although Pochettino should be concerned that none of the club’s other players have scored more than three times.
