Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told BBC Sport that he felt Son Heung-min was ‘fantastic’ against Middlesbrough this afternoon.
Spurs went into today’s game against newly-promoted Boro having won three of their five Premier League games, drawing the other two – and their unbeaten record remains intact this evening.

The man of the moment was winger Son, who has been excellent in recent weeks. The South Korean – who was heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane over the summer – had impressed in recent games with two goals and an assist against Stoke before an outstanding display against Sunderland last week.
Today, it was Boro who were on the receiving end of Son’s brilliance, as he struck twice in the first 25 minutes to put Tottenham 2-0 up at the Riverside Stadium.
Ben Gibson pulled one back for Boro in the second half, but Spurs held out for the win, with Son failing to complete his hat-trick, yet still claiming all the headlines after the final whistle.

Son is proving his worth to Tottenham after a summer of speculation, and manager Mauricio Pochettino was again full of praise for his performance after the final whistle.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the final whistle, Pochettino claimed that Son was ‘fantastic’, singling him out for praise whilst also suggesting that it was a team effort as Tottenham claimed another three points.
Pochettino added that he felt Spurs should have scored more than two goals in the first half, and thinks Tottenham need to learn two things – how to be more aggressive, and how to be more clinical in front of goal.

“We fully deserved the result, the most important thing is the victory,” said Pochettino. Son was fantastic but it was a collective effort.”
“The first half was great and we should have scored more than two. We need to learn to be more aggressive and clinical,” he added.
