Tottenham are thought to be ahead of PSG in the race for Juan Foyth’s signature.

Despite interest in Davinson Sanchez, the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur signing Juan Foyth rumbles on.

Argentine club Estudiantes have been negotiating with clubs over the past few weeks.

Paris Saint-Germain had been Tottenham’s main competitors but Argentine newspaper El Dia report the French side have now quietened their interest after the defender expressed his concern at not getting playing time.

Tottenham are Foyth’s first choice, and this is due to a personal intervention from head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

El Dia report that while the two clubs were negotiating, Pochettino phoned Foyth and told him he would make him a part of his first team squad, and sold him on his vision for the club.

Tottenham’s financial offer was not as attractive as PSG’s, but with the French side backing off, Estudiantes are now realising that dealing with Spurs is their best option.

Inter Milan are claimed to be showing tentative interest but as yet not enough to usurp Spurs from now being favourites for the defender’s signature.

The Sanchez situation could potentially change Foyth’s mind and Pochettino’s plans, but it remains possible Tottenham could buy both, and even later cash in on Kevin Wimmer.
