The Tottenham Hotspur ace has been absent from action for around 12 weeks.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Southampton on Sunday, and provided an update on the fitness of Toby Alderweireld, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
The 28-year-old has been out of action since November, after injuring his hamstring against Real Madrid in the Champions League, and his absence has hit the north London outfit hard.

He has been an extremely influential figure for Tottenham, since making his switch from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £11.5 million, and he has firmly established himself as one of the continent’s best centre-backs.
Pochettino spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference today, and responded when asked when he expects the Belgium international to return to the first-team fold, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London:

“Maybe today if all is ok with him then tomorrow he can integrate himself in some exercise with the group and a little bit step by step build his fitness to be available again. Tomorrow, but if all is ok with scan today.”
Tottenham have plenty of strength in depth in the central defensive department, but they will undoubtedly be strengthened when the 28-year-old defender returns to action, and it will be a massive boost for them to have him back involved in training.
