Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told the Daily Mail that he was very happy with how Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen performed on their debuts for the club.
Spurs were in action in the International Champions Cup earlier today, as they took on Juventus in Melbourne, but came away with a 2-1 defeat.

Paulo Dybala and Mehdi Benatia both struck inside the first 20 minutes to put the Italian champions in cruise control, and whilst Erik Lamela did pull a goal back for Spurs, Pochettino’s men were beaten at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The result may have been disappointing, but the game gave Pochettino the chance to see his two summer signings in action for the first time.

Midfielder Victor Wanyama and striker Vincent Janssen, who joined from Southampton and AZ Alkmaar respectively earlier this summer, both started for Spurs in Australia as they got their Tottenham careers started
Wanyama notched an assist for Lamela’s consolation, but Janssen endured a frustrating afternoon as, whilst he made some good runs, they ultimately came to very little.
Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen
After the game, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the Daily Mail about both players, and admitted he was ‘very happy’ with Janssen, as he worked hard for the team but was tired, and needs to adapt to Tottenham’s style of play.
Pochettino added that Wanyama was ‘very good’, before claiming he was ‘very happy’ with both of his new signings on their debuts for the club.
“I’m happy, very happy,” said Pochettino. “Vincent worked very hard for the team. The first half was difficult but in the second half he linked better with his team-mates. He was tired and we need to care for him. He needs to adapt our philosophy and our game. Victor was very good. I think that I’m very happy with both players,” he added.
