PSG were reportedly ready to offer Abdou Diallo and Ander Herrera to Tottenham in exchange for Tanguy Ndombele, who Antonio Conte was eager to sell.
According to the Athletic, Mauricio Pochettino was keen to sign Ndombele after signing the midfielder for Tottenham in 2019, with Conte set on offloading the Frenchman this transfer window.
As per the report, Paris were set on offloading some fringe players of their own, with Diallo, a reported £27m signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, and Herrera, a UEFA Europa League winner with Manchester United, both on the table for Ndombele.
However, a deal was unable to get going, with Ndombele instead signing for former club Olympique Lyonnais on loan for the rest of the season, with the French side having an option to sign the 25-year-old on a permanent deal.
Indeed, Ndombele was chased by PSG for the majority of the January window, with the French giants at one point looking like the favourites to sign the Tottenham midfielder on loan.
Yet as we know, Lyon won the race for Ndombele, who was one of four midfielders to leave north London along with Dele Alli, Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso in what was a frantic end to the transfer window for Tottenham.
Tottenham were right to reject PSG offers for Ndombele

Pochettino’s offers for Ndombele are interesting, to say the least, yet there’s no denying Tottenham made the right call in waving off the PSG manager’s swap deals for the French midfielder.
Spurs brought in Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus as a replacement for Ndombele, and whilst the move did leave PSG empty-handed, the Tottenham midfielder returning home to Lyon is the best move the Frenchman could have hoped for.
