Back in April 2021, former PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino had said that Nottingham Forest-linked star Keylor Navas was still one of the best of the best in his position.

On Wednesday, it was reported by the Athletic that Gary O’Neil’s side were keen on bringing the £198,000-a-week ace to the City Ground.

This would be a big statement from Nottingham Forest, especially considering that Mauricio Pochettino, who worked with Keylor Navas at PSG felt he was still the real deal.

The Costa Rican has been eyed by Forest, after MEN delivered the blow that Dean Henderson was set to be sidelined with a muscle injury for the next 6 weeks.

Considering Henderson has been terrific for the club since his arrival on loan in the summer, a player worthy of filling his boots has to be brought in.

Well, it’s fair to say that a 3-time Champions League winner wouldn’t be too shabby a replacement.

Considering Mauricio Pochettino, who has also worked with Hugo Lloris and Gianluigi Donnarumma rated Nottingham Forest-linked ace Keylor Navas so highly is telling.

The comments made by the Argentine should excite the City Ground faithful.

In April 2021, Mauricio Pochettino was extremely complimentary of Nottingham Forest-linked Keylor Navas.

“Keylor [Navas] is one of the best goalies in the world. I’m very happy he is with us”, Pochettino said, as quoted by GiveMeSport.

How much of an upgrade would Keylor Navas be on Dean Henderson?

Well, from a shotstopping perspective, Keylor Navas would certainly be a significant upgrade on Dean Henderson.

While Henderson can pull off blinders here and there, the former Real Madrid No.1 is one of the best shotstoppers of his generation.

Distribution wise, the Englishman could well trump him.

However, the pedigree the 36-year-old could bring to the side is invaluable.

If Mauricio Pochettino is proven right, Nottingham Forest could make a masterstroke of a signing in Keylor Navas.
