When speaking to reporters during his post-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino raved about the performance of Harry Kane in their 3-0 FA Cup win at Fulham, and highlighted what a great example the striker sets to other members of the squad, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
The 23-year-old has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season, despite spending nearly two months on the sidelines through injury, and has scored an impressive 19 goals in 25 outings in all competitions.
And he has been a major driving force behind Spurs’ climb to third in the Premier League table.
They are still 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, however, and will need Kane to produce his very best for the remainder of the season, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of catching Antonio Conte’s men.
Pochettino spoke to the media about how highly he rates the England international, both as a player and as a person, as quoted by the Evening Standard:
Tottenham’s Harry Kane celebrates
“He is a great player and a great person. He is a very good professional with his commitment to the club, with the team and the coaching staff. That is a good example for all. We feel very proud to have not only a player, if not a man, how he is with the squad.”
Kane has developed into such a superb striker, that sometimes it is easy to forget that he is only 23-years-old, and that he actually has plenty of time in which to improve further still.
And with 83 goals in 152 career appearances for Tottenham, that is quite a frightening prospect for the rest of the league.
