Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, and refused to rule out the prospect of ever managing Real Madrid, listing three clubs that he would never manage in the process, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The Argentine has worked wonders during his three-and-a-half years in charge of Tottenham, and he deserves great credit for the manner in which he has transformed an underperforming group of players into perennial title contenders.

The Lilywhites have been inconsistent this season, however, and currently sit in fifth position in the Premier League table, two points adrift of fourth placed Liverpool, and they have a real fight on their hands to finish inside the top four.

Spurs have been magnificent in Europe, however. They finished top of their Champions League group ahead of European superpowers Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, having taken 16 points from the six games they played.

Tottenham’s wonderful performances on the continent have brought Pochettino to the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, and the 45-year-old refused to rule out taking over at the Bernabeu in the future.

He did list three clubs he would never manage, however, as quoted by the Daily Mail:

Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Spurs looks on prior to the Pre-Season Friendly match beween Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus at Wembley Stadium on August 5, 2017 in London, England.

“You never know what will happen in football. I am never going to be manager of Barcelona or Arsenal because I am so identified with Tottenham and Espanyol. I grew up with Newell’s Old Boys and will never manage (their rivals) Rosario Central. That is my decision. I prefer to work on my farm in Argentina than in some places.”

Whether Pochettino will remain at Spurs for the foreseeable future remains to be seen, and Tottenham fans will be praying that the Argentine hangs around for the long-term.
