Tottenham Hotspur will most likely be playing Thursday night football in the Europa League after their Champions League exit.

Spurs crashed out of the Champions League last night after a bitterly disappointing 2-1 defeat at Monaco, but despite the prospect of Thursday night football, Mauricio Pochettino talked up the chance of playing in the Europa League, calling it a good opportunity for the club, as quoted by BT Sport.
Tottenham’s European campaign this season both started and ended with 2-1 defeats to Monaco, and has highlighted just how far short of the required standard they are to compete at this level.
Daniel Levy and Pochettino surely need to be questioned in regards to their recruitment policy, and maybe a different route is needed, where they buy in players who are ready-made, rather than exciting prospects for the future.
If the North London outfit avoid defeat at home to CSKA Moscow in their final group game they will qualify for the Europa League, and Pochettino described the potential of that as a blessing rather than a curse, as quoted by BT Sport:

“It is good for the club to go into the Europa League and try to go further in the competition. I think it’ll be good. Remember last season we played against Borussia Dortmund and we struggled a little bit. That level was like Champions League.”
Spurs will have to recover from their disappointment quickly, with a huge Premier League game away at Chelsea on Saturday which they absolutely cannot afford to lose.
