The Tottenham Hotspur striker may be set for a spell on the side-lines.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the London Evening Standard following his side’s 6-0 victory against Millwall in the FA Cup quarter-final this weekend.
The England international lasted just 10 minutes before being replaced by Danish play-maker Christian Eriksen, and while Tottenham did not suffer on the day there are far bigger matches to come that they will be desperate to have Kane available for.
Speaking to the Standard shortly after the full time whistle, the Tottenham boss said, “He twists his ankle, the same ankle as it was before against Sunderland.
“Now we will wait and assess tomorrow and wait and see. We hope it is not a big issue but it looks similar.
“It’s sure it will be difficult for him to play against Southampton but we need to see what happens in the next few days.”
Kane has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season and he will have been hoping to fill his boots against their lower league opponents, but as it was teammate Heung-min Son grabbed the latest hat-trick of Spurs’ free-scoring season.
Next up for Tottenham is a match against Pochettino’s former club Southampton, before the upcoming international break potentially gives Kane the perfect chance to recover in time for the challenges ahead.
