Tottenham Hotspur earned a valuable three points in the Premier League title race last night.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s impressive 1-0 win at Crystal Palace last night, and offered an explanation for the two bold changes he made during the half-time break, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Tottenham had to really grind out their victory against the Eagles, and proved that they are made of stern stuff. The result was made all the more impressive by Palace’s fantastic recent run of form that had seen them beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Argentine’s side closed the gap on league leaders Chelsea back to four points after beating Sam Allardyce’s men, and with just five games remaining, they still have a great chance of winning their first league title since 1961.
Pochettino spoke to reporters after the game, expressing his delight at how his side managed to leave Selhurst Park with all three points, and explained his thinking behind making two half-time substitutions, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“Mousa twisted his ankle and Victor had a yellow card and it was difficult for him. We needed to do something different to try to find the way to create chances, to dominate and win the game and it worked well. Sometimes, when you make changes and change the shape it doesn’t work, but this worked very well.”
Next up for Tottenham is the North London Derby at White Hart Lane on Sunday, and they don’t come much bigger than that.
And with Chelsea facing a tough game away at Everton, Spurs could find themselves even closer to Antonio Conte’s men after this weekend.
