Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, and offered high praise for the club’s chairman Daniel Levy, highlighting the fantastic support he is offered on a regular basis, as quoted by Football.London.

The 55-year-old has not always been the flavour of the month at White Hart Lane, with many Tottenham fans blaming him for the club’s lack of progress during his 15-year-tenure.

That has all changed since Pochettino’s appointment as manager in the summer of 2014, however, with the Argentine transforming the Lilywhites into perennial title contenders.

They are also now widely considered to be the best footballing side in the Premier League, and Levy deserves huge credit for making all of that possible by having the courage to make what was seen at the time as a fairly risky appointment, when he poached the Argentine from Southampton.

And Pochettino lavished praise upon the Spurs supremo, when speaking to reporters today.

He discussed his side’s achievement of gaining the most points out of anyone in the league over the last two seasons, coupled with their net spend of just £7 million in comparison to Manchester City’s £270 million, as quoted by Football.London:

“I think it’s a very good achievement for the club. We have to congratulate all, first the chairman. Daniel Levy deserves a lot of credit in those three years. Because his support is massive to me and that’s a good thing to recognise when the people help you, when the chairman cares about you, shares ideas and tries to be involved every day.”

The relationship between Pochettino and Levy will surely be tested to the limit over the next couple of seasons, however, with regards to the money that is made available to the Argentine.
