The Tottenham Hotspur ace is facing a possible ban on the international scene.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, and discussed whether he plans to keep Dele Alli in north London, if the midfielder does go on to receive an international ban as expected, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.

The 21-year-old England international is facing a possible ban from action with the Three Lions following a controversial gesture he made during his last international appearance.

The former MK Dons man has been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming international fixtures, however, despite the threat of the ban hanging over his head.

And Pochettino responded to reporters when asked if he would keep Alli with Tottenham, should he in fact go on to receive a ban, as quoted by Football.London:

“I will decide what happens. To guess today what happens tomorrow we don’t know. If he’s banned I prefer him to stay with us working rather than to be with the national team but then it’s a decision between the national team and us.”

Dele has been in fine form for the Lilywhites so far this term, chipping in with three goals and an assist in seven outings in all competitions.

And he will be absolutely vital to Tottenham’s chances of winning major honours over the course of the campaign.
